Welcome to Visions and Giggles! However you got here, I am glad to have you! About me…well, to start with the basics I am a 29 year old chronic daydreamer. During the day, I am a preschool teacher and when I get home I go to my night job…my writing. I have done free lancing, ghost writing… I even wrote a pamphlet once. Not the most exciting thing but I was very proud of it. I have wanted to be a writer since the day I was born. My daddy taught me to read when I was four years old and I have been reading anything I can get my hands on since that day. I remember stealing all my mom’s Teri McMillan and E. Lynn Harris books and reading them under the covers with a flashlight. I have always dreamed of seeing my name in print…but life has a way of throwing you a few curveballs but I will get there. I am just beginning to understand that life doesn’t end at 30. You don’t have to have it all figured out in your twenties. I have a few more decades on this earth….so, I’ve got some time.
I started Visions and Giggles because I wanted to challenge myself. Too often, I allow myself to hide behind my words. This blog is an effort to step out of my comfort zone and really take my creativity to the limits. I need to learn how to push the boundaries and never mind the naysayers. I wanted to create an outlet where I can just be me. No bullshit, no facades….just me. This is something very different for me and I am excited to see what becomes of it!

I recently quit my job as a preschool teacher in an effort to focus on my writing endeavors and my school work. After three months, I learned that I can’t have one without the other and I have started back teaching. As a result, I’m generally up until 2am every morning but what’s life without a little bit of crazy?
